Goal 1: To increase student vocabulary with the use of synonyms within our various textsStudents were shown how to use the thesaurus within Microsoft Word. Students thought this was an easy way to find the synonym using the technology tool at hand. Students completed an activity where they had to find multiple synonyms to complete sentences. The second activity proved to be better than the first. The activity was more relevant to the student's world although the process of finding synonyms was the same. Goal 2:Increase student math skills using a variety of techniques related to the field of technologyThere are various oppportunities in my classroom for the use of mathematical operations and ideas. We figured quiz scores, percentages, and grades using calculators on the computer or hand-held calculators. We also used Microsoft Excel to calculate totals within a worksheet. Students grasped both ideas fairly well and will be able to use them in other areas of their education.
